Cookie Policy | CLING

At CLING, we think it’s critical to be clear and upfront about how we gather and utilize data regarding you. This Cookie Policy applies to any CLING product or service that links to this policy or incorporates it by reference.

To help us improve our Services, we use cookies and similar technologies such as pixels, local storage, and mobile ad IDs (collectively referred to in this policy as “cookies”) to collect and utilize data as defined in our Privacy Policy (“Services”). All of these activities, as well as our websites, emails, mobile applications and off-site services (such as advertising), are subject to this policy.

This privacy policy is intended to be as transparent as possible, and it includes comprehensive information about how and when we use these technologies.

You agree to the use of cookies and similar technologies for the purposes stated in this policy if you continue to access or utilize our Services.

What technologies are used?

Type of technologyGeneral Description
CookieCookies are small files that CLING saves on your computer. Cookies from us or third-party sources such as our clients, partners, or service providers might be read by any browser who visits our websites.
Types of CookiesWe utilize two sorts of cookies: persistent cookies and session cookies. A persistent cookie is kept for long after your visit and is used for a variety of purposes, such as identifying you as a returning user, so you can more easily access CLING and interact with our services without signing in again. Since a persistent cookie is saved in your browser, CLING will recognize you when you revisit one of our sites or access a third party site that utilizes our services. A session cookie lasts only as long as the session (usually the current visit to a website or a browser session) during which it was generated.
PixelsA pixel is a tiny picture that may be included within web pages and emails, necessitating a call (which provides device and visit information) to our servers in order for the pixel to display in those web pages and emails. We collect data using pixels when you interact with email content or internet content, such as whether you clicked on advertisements or articles. Pixels can also be used to enable us and third parties to place cookies on your browser.
Other similar technologiesWe also employ various tracking methods, such as mobile advertising IDs and tags, for similar reasons outlined in this Cookie Policy. This policy refers to comparable technologies including pixels, local storage, and other tracking technologies.
Local storageLocal storage allows a website or program to save data locally on your device(s). Local storage, for example, may be used to provide enhanced CLING experiences such as features, remembering preferences, and speeding up site performance.

What are these technologies used for?

Below we describe the purposes for which we use these technologies.

PurposeGeneral Description
AuthenticationCookies and other technologies are used to identify you when you use our Services.   These technologies assist us in providing you with the best information possible and customizing your experience based on your preferences. Cookies, for example, allow CLING to identify you and confirm your account.
SecurityCookies and similar technologies are used on our Services to make your interactions more efficient and safer. We utilize cookies, for example, to enable and support our security functions, as well as to help us find malicious activity and technical breaches of our User Agreement.
Preferences, features and servicesCookies and similar technologies are used to provide easier forms filling on our Services, as well as features, insights, and tailored content in conjunction with our plugins. These technologies are also employed to remember information about your browser and preferences. Cookies, for example, may tell us what language you prefer and which languages you want to communicate with. We can also utilize local storage to improve your experience of the performance of our website.
Customized contentCookies and similar technologies are used on our Services to personalize your experience. For example, we may utilize cookies to recall prior searches so that when you revisit our services, we can provide further information relevant to your previous search.
AdvertisingCookies and other technologies are used to help us show relevant advertising to you more effectively both on and off our services, as well as evaluate the performance of such ads. We utilize these technologies in order for us to learn whether content has been presented to you or whether someone who was shown an ad later came back and performed an action (e.g., made a purchase) on another site. The same applies to our partners or service providers, who may use these technologies to see whether we’ve displayed an ad or a piece and how it performed, as well as provide us with information about how you engage with advertisements. We may also collaborate with our clients and partners to show you an advertisement on CLING, such as after you’ve visited a customer’s or partner’s website or application. These technologies assist us in providing aggregate data to our customers and partners.
Analytics and researchCookies and similar technologies help us learn how well our Services and plugins perform in various locations. We or our service providers employ these technologies to understand, improve, and research goods, features, and services like as you navigate through our sites or use CLING from other sites, applications, or devices.   We, or our service providers, use these technologies to assess and quantify the success of advertising or material on CLING, as well as learn whether you’ve responded to our sites, content, or emails.   We also utilize these technologies to offer aggregated data to our consumers and partners as part of our services.   If you are a CLING member but have logged out of your account on a browser, CLING will continue to log your usage of our Services on that browser until the cookie expires in order to produce usage metrics for our services. In aggregate form, we may share these data with our clients.

Your Choices

You may choose whether CLING uses cookies and similar technologies in the same way.

Please keep in mind that if you prevent CLING from setting cookies and similar technologies, your overall user experience will be less efficient because it will no longer be personalized to you. It may also prevent you from saving customized preferences like login information saved.

Browser Controls

Cookies may be managed in a variety of ways by most browsers, which may be tailored to reflect your consent to the usage of cookies. Furthermore, most browsers give you the option of reviewing and removing cookies, including those from CLING.

Please check the documentation from your browser manufacturer for further information on browser controls.

What is Do Not Track (DNT)?

DNT is a concept that regulatory agencies like the FTC have encouraged for Internet businesses to create and implement a solution for allowing users to control their online activity across websites via browser preferences. At this time, CLING does not respond to “do not track” browser instructions.
